So I work at Petsmart in the grooming salon and I havent been working there that long, only since march or so. Every day I see how incredibly selfish people are! People will bring their dogs in and they are completely matted to the skin. Mats are a serious thing that happens when a dog gets tangles and it pulls and pulls on their skin. It really hurts them and infections can form under the mats and that just causes more problems. Some people will bring their dogs in matted and we tell them that their dogs need to be shaved for the dogs own good and people will not do it just because they want their dog to have long hair! This is even after we inform them of the pain and other complications that come from mats. Do people not realize how bad this hurts the dog? Let someone pull your hair constantly and see how you feel. People should really take into consideration how the animals feel and not what they think will make the dog look better. Hair grows back!
